Our new school will be spread over three levels. Each level will be designed to represent parts of a tree. Arua – roots, Tiwai – trunk and Ohunga – branches. The spaces are designed to be open and collaborative, but with the flexibility to changes with the needs of the students and the staff who are working in them.
Each level has been carefully designed to best meet the requirements of the students. This includes art spaces/wet areas, withdrawal rooms for small groups, toilet facilities and so on.
The Arua level will be home to our youngest learners and will include a purpose built outdoor learning space for them to enjoy. Our lovely office ladies will be based at what will be the new main entrance, where the old hall used to be.
Tiwai will be the base for our Year 7/8 students and will also be the place to find all our specialist teachers and our amazing library, which will be at the heart of the school. Our hall will also be on this level.
Ohunga on Level 3 will be home to our senior students. This level also includes the staff-room which will look down over the library and out onto the school field.
